Give every post a purpose
Before creating a post, answer two questions: who is it for, and what should they take away? A local bakery might show how to store a product, answer a common ordering question, or introduce the person making it. A creator might explain one step or share a lesson with enough context for someone new.
Choose a subject you can address accurately. Specific examples and useful details give people more value than a generic caption asking them to engage.
Choose a clear and accessible format
Use a Reel, carousel, photo, or Story when that format helps people understand or participate. Keep the opening and caption aligned with what follows, and make key text readable on a phone.
- Put the main idea near the start or first slide.
- Add accurate captions when speech carries important information.
- Use alt text where available to describe meaningful visual details.
- Keep the caption focused and add context when it helps.
- Use hashtags only when they accurately describe the post.

Invite a real conversation
A useful question is easy to answer and connected to the post. Ask for a preference, experience, or next detail someone needs. Then respond with care; recurring questions can become ideas for future posts.
Instead of “Comment anything below,” try “Which part of this process would you like me to show step by step?”
Avoid misleading prompts, engagement bait, and claims that a post guarantees reach or followers. Trust matters to a healthy community.
Measure what matches your goal
Choose a signal before publishing. Saves or shares may be useful for an educational post; thoughtful replies may matter for a community question; profile actions may matter for a business update. Use the insights available to your account and compare similar posts over time.
Do not compare unlike posts as if they were the same experiment. Topic, audience, format, and season can change the response. Look for patterns, then make one adjustment you can explain.
